T5D5 now supports Facebook Connect as an option for logging into IP.Board and for users to associate their account with the same login as their Facebook account.

Users have the ability to use Facebook Connect to login to T5D5. They also have the ability to either associate their Facebook account with an existing T5D5 account, or create a new IP.Board account.

Basic profile data such as avatar, profile picture, "About Me", and status will be synced to T5D5 from Facebook if the user selects the options on their Profile settings.

We have purposely kept the complexity of the various syncing options available through Facebook Connect to a minimum. We have many ideas on how we would like to expand the capabilities in the future, but we wanted to keep this integration basic for the time being.

Such a feature may be that the Status Updates functionality within the board will propogate to/from Facebook/T5D5.

Should anybody need any assistance in linking their accounts, please post below.

You can access the linker by signing out and going to the Sign In page - or by editing your profile options under Facebook Connect

I can see the facebook connect button.....

As for the status sync, I've no idea - but I know a man who might (when he answers!)
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair

As far as getting the Facebook update to post as your status update here, I now see in the profile the "Update my Status with my Facebook status" option. I did see some note though that it syncs every 24 hours. Does that mean it will only update the status once a day, or is there a way for it to get the status update quicker?

It updates the status daily. :) I don't believe there is any sort of manual/immediate resynch option.

And before the next question, if you attempt to force it to update the status more often you run the risk of Facebook blocking your forum from connecting at all to it, as there are limits on the API (the Facebook/Twitter connection is likely a deal they have in place).

Other than that, till God answers the phone - thats all folks.
