Oh dear i seem to have upset a few people with my latest weight saving excersize

I didnt think it would be to everyones cup of tea but it is only a car at the end of the day and it was bought as a project car, People strip out £100k porsches so its not really a big issue.

Your car to do wih as you wish, it just pains me.

Don't expect me to understand why you would do this to a mint (in my eyes) 855R. Some scabby old T5 with faded paint and a ruined interior maybe but not this one.

Probably the same way a question could be asked of me as to why I modified a V70 D5 an put it round Combe- because it was mine and I could. lol

Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! After hearing about all the work that was done of that car

but like Redbrick says, "it's mine and I could".

Or if someone asks me "why", I generally answer "why not?". Each unto their own:D

Still think your barrking mad though
Don't let your age define you. It's a number, that's all.

Nasty D5 dieseasel with few twiddly bits from TWR, MTE, IPD and Eibach but 600 miles to a tank ain't to be sniffed at :-)

I can see where people are coming from, Thing is why buy an 850R or a t5 thats a shed and start playing with it?

All that will happen is that you will be out of pocket and have all the maintainence work to do before you even start stripping it out etc, In my eyes its a clean car for its age and has been very well maintained but its far from what id call MINT bodywork wise compared to other cars ive owned in the past so i dont feel ive ruined it in any way what i have done is maximised what ive already got and have an awesome platform to work from not to mention trippling the fun factor :D

It doesnt mean that im going to neglect the car now its stripped out far from it im planning on spenind money on a diff and eventually i would like to put some forged rods in the car etc Im actually going to Tims in a few weeks for him to check everything over for extra piece of mind.

As much as it also pains me to see what Simon has done to HIS 850R it is at the end of the day his. Some people will say the same about my 850R but I don't care and if I had the money to run 2 cars I would also strip my 850 to its bare bones.

I can also see Elliots point of view now and to why he wont post pictures of his 850R.

Simon please don't take any of these point to heart, most on here will get over the fact you have stripped your 850 in a week or so, but most of all enjoy your project. And get some bucket seat soon so I can have the R seats quick....

Cheers tony, I totally appreciate people opinions and value the input people give.

I knew that not everyone will like what i have done but ive had visions of doing it for a very long time, Just driving it home from work fealt so good :) My aim is to hopefully have a well specced engine with forged internals one day thats reliable and that i can drive every day but still have some fun in it if you get me.

Not that the car is slow now but its always nice to have a bit more, I love Jans T5R and the rawness of that but even i wont go as far as caging the car.....Although a similar engine spec would be nice. I like the idea of the TT ecu but im crap with computers and it would scare me a bit.

P.S im on the case with the buckets dont worry :D

Yeah mate, don't worry! I completely understand why you'd wanna strip it out (just something I wouldn't do to my daily driver), heck, I did Silverstone yesterday evening and am thinking about power-to-weight now/getting a dedicated track car LOL.

Good luck with the rest of the mods! Can't wait to see it again and have a passenger ride :D
