Yeah mate, don't worry! I completely understand why you'd wanna strip it out (just something I wouldn't do to my daily driver), heck, I did Silverstone yesterday evening and am thinking about power-to-weight now/getting a dedicated track car LOL.

Good luck with the rest of the mods! Can't wait to see it again and have a passenger ride :D

Well i did consider running 2cars myself at one stage but it wasnt really an option for me plus i dont need my daily to be practical as i have no family etc, Im sure you will see it again and i will gladly take you for a spin anytime :)

The way it picks up speed now is hilarious......Aswell as the noise :D

Just a small update to the project,

Done a fair few miles in the car over the last 3 weeks including a couple of long motorway journeys and i have to say that i dont regret stripping it out one bit...........Its a right scream!

I havnt been able to go too daft with the car this month as ive had a week off work and i promised myself a new digital camera but i have managed to do a few small but noticable jobs to the car including, Fitting a BBR quickshift plate to the gearbox which has made quite a difference to the throw on the lever, Fitted some clear side repeaters currently on the lookout for some v70 rear lights too and sold my old front and rear seats and replaced them with some much lighter non electric front seats.

The reason i sold my 850R seats was that im currently keeping my eye out for a pair of bucket seats for the car and can use the subframes off the existing non electric seats ive just bought.

Since i havnt been near the car with the cleaning tackle for a few weeks and ive just got a new camera i decided to spend a few hours detailing the car this morning and have taken a few pics......

I would very gladly take those roof rails off your hands- I've always wanted some on my red 855!

Seriously- if you are going to take them off let me know and I'll be round like a shot.

Cant belive youve stripped it.
My interior is back in i only remove for track days.
Only use the runners and not the frames for mounting the seats otherwise your head will be banging the roof.
Can get my trim in and out in an hour couldnt bear to drive it all day with no trim.
Stuck in the mid nineties!

You even utter the word H, Ho, Hon (no I still can't bring myself to say it ) and you are likely to be lynched in no uncertain terms...............
Don't let your age define you. It's a number, that's all.

Nasty D5 dieseasel with few twiddly bits from TWR, MTE, IPD and Eibach but 600 miles to a tank ain't to be sniffed at :-)

Dont worry Robbie its not going to be a Honda, Ive been there before when i had an integra type r last year.....Was a great car in the twisties but the main drawbacks for me was that it was not quick enough and a PITA on the motorway with the low gearing and for those 2reasons id never have another.

I might be building a Saab powered, Vauxhall street sleeper as it will give me what i want and on a budget too.

I have a picture of 2 comets side-by-side, one the original anthracite and one slightly darker including the paint codes. I'll post it on Monday (will need reminding though!)
