Thanks all, you see so many wheels refurbed in different colours that I dismissed the fact that it could have been a standard colour.. Is that a different colour to standard titans? Sorry to thread hijack

pretty sure they're a standard colour kerry. can't be definitive cos the wheels were done before afzal bought the car iirc.

Right this may come as a shock to some of you and ive given this alot of thought over the last week and have decided that im either....

A. Going to tax the car for 6 months, Put 12 months MOT on the car and sell it at a loss due to stripping it out Which id be happy to do.

OR

B. SORN the car at the end of september, Break the car for spares and scrap the shell This would be an awful waste of a very very tidy shell.

The bottom line is the car has had an insane amount of money spent this year replacing pretty much every worn item on the car not to mention all the performance mods. The car has a very good spec indeed and goes very well but sadly its not enough for me, I had big plans when i bought the car but now having thought about it i sadly cant justify ploughing another £2-3k into the car on forged rods, Bigger turbo, Bigger injectors, Quaiffe LSD, Custom mapping, Bigger brakes etc etc.

I wish i could just be happy and just enjoy the car as it is but ive been spoilt with some very quick performance cars in the past and sadly the Volvo will never give me what i want Without spending thousands and thousands on it.

Ive been giving serious thought to it all and after now owning 4 modified Volvos its time to move onto something different nothing Jap i might add.

So there you have it.........Awaits abuse

It would be a crying shame to scrap the shell- I am sure Tony would give it a good home.

I'd add the front bumper to the roof rails if this goes ahead- mine had a chat with a hare at high speed when being driven by the PO.

Financially it would be better for me to strip the car as i wreckon it is worth between £2000-£2500 as it is now and probably £3000 in parts if i was to break it.

I payed £3500 for the car so it would be more ideal for me to break it if we are talking money but i dont really have a place to store the car so it would become difficut and time consuming so selling it at a loss is probably my best and more favourable option.

At the end of the day it is your car to do with as you please, however it's a shame that you didn't think entirely through this before you went about stripping it, not least as you've lost yourself a lot of money but also a very nice car isn't so nice any more.

I certainly hope you don't go down the scrapping route - There are plenty of other cars out there that are worth scrapping, if you start scrapping the good ones there'll be hardly any left worth owning.

Hopefully there's someone out there who'll either buy it and restore it to how it was originally, or continue with what you've started and finish the car.

Thats just it, I did think it through and was happy to go ahead with the stripping.

I dont regret stripping the interior at all, Sadly though as time is going on im becoming more and more un-attatched from the car and now cannot see myself taking the project any further.

Money wise im actualy really glad ive lost interest now as ive spent nothing but my time on the car upto now, If i would have gone ahead with my orignal plans and had fitted forged rods, Bigger turbo, Queef LSD, Bigger brakes and had a custom MTE map i would stand to loose alot more!

In the last 3 years ive lost £10k on 2 cars i wrote off so if i stand to loose £1000-£1500 on selling this one so be it, Ill never be buying another one though as its really not what i want anymore......Sadly i might add :(

As for stripping it, I dont really want to go down that route. The MOT runs out in november and i have no doubt that the car will pass as it wants for nothing, I will only put it through the MOT for a new buyer though and if i dont get any interest when i advertise the car over the next few weeks ill have no choice but to scrap the shell and sell off any parts that have value.
