Hello,

Emigrated Swede living in EIRE now recently (a month?) bought a Volvo S60 T5 (2002).

To be honest wasn't planning on getting a Volvo anytime soon... a little fella changed that. :P Have a Altezza *beams that the kid seat wouldn't fit properly in and couldn't retrofit any ISOFIX stuff into it so went on a car hunt.... found a nice S60 T5 with 135k on the clock, got it pretty cheap but need a few TLC things done to it to be proper 100%... Also have a Nissan 350z which prompted the BSR tune quicker then I thought...

So far I've ordered or fitted.

BSR Stage 2 tune (he he couldn't wait)
New plugs (fitted)
New Engine Oil (fitted)
New Oil filter (GFS Parts fitted)
New Oil plug (old one rotten)
Tyres ( Vredestein ULTRAC SESSANTA 225/45 ZR17 94Y XL with rim protection ridge) - to replace the shitty nankang ones!
Air filter (old one WAS far to dirty)

New Wishbones front
New Wishbones bushings (powerflex) < for the Wishbones coming out of the car
New Gearbox mount < guess mine is shot
New handbrake pads < really gone
Second hand Eibach springs (getting them from a member on another site next week hopefully, not sure why I ordered these!)
New flush kit for the gearbox (auto or as you say gaytronic :P, having changed the ATF fuid once since I got it already...)

Think thats it's gents and lasses (if any) really looking to get knowledge about the brand and model of car I got and what to expect etc. Next performance mod will be a full exhaust system...this will be once the current one falls off though. Might take her for a dyno session to see what she puts out. Please bare in mind that I'm coming from other forums so don't have all the Volvo talk just yet :P

Oh spent 8 hours detailing the car when I got it with 6 odd hours spent on washing, claybar and polish the whole car... need another go to be honest but haven't had time.

A

Tingymagig, monies on the way ;)

Irf, I wonder what he thought was wrong with that tune... maybe they don't work on cars that only has a primer coat on?

BSR tune, have to say I like it. It did what I wanted increased the torq and hp a bit from standard. This car has done 135k miles so don't want to go tune the hell out of the engine and suffer a brakedown sooner rather then later... remember this is my family wagon have the 350Z for fun (or the bike) B) . Didn't feel like looking through millions of threads to find someone tuning a Volvo in this country only to be upset to know there isn't any and all the goodies are across in UK... had to order the BSR kit from the UK too!

Redbrik, what makes it the best? ;)

V70D5, I'll get cracking on finding those photos I took after my 8 hour detail of the paint...

So what sort of petrol are you running it on? Last time I took mine across I couldn't find V-Power which is what it prefers post remap. Going back this week and expecting to have to take it easy on a tank or two of normal unleaded.

E5 seems to work pretty well. Stupid they don't have any higher octane stuff here... suposse nobody would buy it! E5 is 5% ethanol btw Topaz and Maxol do it on the pumps should keep the octane rating a bit higher then 95 at least. Otherwise go to Maxol with redpump station and stick in some E85 :whistling:

out of interest how much is diesel (roughly) over there atm

and i vote for the volvo if ur askin :whistling:

took a 350 out for a test drive before very nice i perticularly like the exhaust makes the right noises when u give it some but quietens down when ur cruising on the M- way but u cant beat the comfort and the look on other drivers faces when a volvo leaves em standing

1.23 in Apple green for the dirty stuff, 1.33 for the unleaded stuff... thats pretty pricey, where are you thinking on filling the baby up? There is a good petrol station (Texaco) down your way where we're meeting that'll be 'cheaper' < quoted is in € B)
