Oil pressure and temp monitoring

7 posts in this topic

With all this talk about oil pressures and temps I've been wondering for a while what's the best way to monitor these?

What kit do you need?

Any tips?

For the 850 not the tractor ;)

Thanks

For oil pressure, just get a take off adaptor from Merlin which screws into the very place that the existing oil pressure sensor / "switch" on the front of the block is located. For oil temp, either tap the probe into the sump plug or have it tapped directly into the sump.

I`ve had both gauges in my V70 for a couple of years now. Oil Pressure as Payaap says comes from a tee-piece in before the original Oil pressure Light Switch. My Oil Temperature sender is in an adapter in place of the sump plug. I use VDo gauges and got the senders/tee-pice/sump adapter from these guys Linky

If your sumps coming off for anything then I would tap the rear of the sump to the N/S of the bung so oil changes are unaffected. The oil pressure comes off where others have said.
