A mate of mine (honest!) may be losing his books for 6 months.
He was wondering if he would still be able to sit in the car acting as his sons driving instructor as his son is on L plates and in the process of learning to drive.
Obviously it wouldnt do either of them much good if they got stopped by the police so he wants to be absolutely sure if it would be legal or not?
Driving Ban Question.

If he's got a driving ban, then he has no licence - and you need a licence to supervise a learner.
The following says it all really
When you are supervising a learner driver, you have the same legal responsibilities as if you were driving. For example, the drink drive laws and the ban on using mobile phone applies to anyone who is supervising a learner - you are deemed to be in control of the vehicle.

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair
