Had a busy weekend this weekend..

On Saturday I set off early for Santa Pod to take part in the Run What Yer Brung. The journey took 3 hours in total and entry was £10 and a further £25 for unlimited runs. My brother and I went up in my T-5R and we met my mum and dad there who went up in their C70

I watched for a while and then my Dad and I decided to have a go. My first run was a 14.7 second 1/4 mile which I was pretty pleased with. I did a further 7 runs - I some how managed to win 7 out of my 8 runs. The cars I beat included an STI classic Impreza, a Mazda MPS, Mondeo ST220, Alfa V6, my dads C70 x 2.

My best run of the day was :

Reaction time : 0.501 seconds
Total time : 14.573
Terminal speed : 100.52 mph

I was absolutely made up with those times, especially considering I didnt do a particularly agressive start! Here are some pics :

And there is more....

I took Monday afternoon off to check my AFR's (and as a bonus get rough idea of bhp and torque!).

The best RR local to me is Sumopower in Rye - only an hour or so away from me. Here are a few pics :

Very pleased with the results, mte stage 2 combined with my other mods seems to get the max out of the turbo as it starts to run out of puff! AFR's perfect as well - good result!

BHP at the wheels is 260.5 bhp / 304.78 bhp at the flywheel
281 ft lbs of torque at the wheel / 328.77 ft lbs oftorque at the flywheel

Very pleased - been a brilliant weekend.

Cheers mate, I was very pleased with it. Yeah still got the 15g but it starts to run out of puff at 5400 rpm and the power drops off a little bit. The guys at sumo power said that there is no point revving it past 5500 rpm.

Looking Good Kerry!!

Looks like you had a better time than us we went to PPC at Mallory Park the event its self was a let down but the people who went where all spot on!
What plans do you have for the turbo then? I seem to remember you wanting to get near to 400bhp or was that some one else?
Was in Tims car at the weekend thats 400+bhp and fook me it quickPosted ImagePosted Image

It was really good thanks. What was the PPC at Mallory? Is it a show or a track day?

Yeah thats the ultimate goal, need to get some bigger brakes now that the handling is 100% sorted and Im pretty happy with the power for now.

I saw it at the ring and it looked fast! Bet that was good fun :D

Hi Kerry

PPC is Practical Performance Car Magazine
Tim was a guest as his car had been a feature car last year so we went along for the ride, there where drift cars and punters cars out on track a few failed due to the long right hand bend
The PPC show was not much of a show i have to say but all the people we chatted to made up for it!
Cheers `Greg
