Much to Irf's dismay (I'm sure), I've gone and got myself a D5! THIS ONE

Don't worry the T5 isn't going anywhere!  Just bought it as a daily driver for commuting to work and general mooching about (to replace my L200, which I really don't need!)

But I can't help modding it!  I bought a leather interior and a set of Nebula's before I even got the car!!  The Nebulas look bloody awesome, they've always been a favourite of mine.  I'm thinking of getting a set of lowering springs and colour coding all the grey trim.  I'm certainly not going to go mad with modifying this S60, but just a couple of nice touches to improve it visually.  Haven't decided if I'll remap it yet!!

I know diesel's aren't to everyone's taste, but I am hugely impressed TBH.  It goes incredibly well, and is very quiet and refined.  And dare I say it, it even sounds nice!  Which is something I've not experienced with diesels before!! Everything works on the car, and the condition is absolutely superb, Steve's (Weeksy, incredibly nice bloke ) pictures in the original advert don't do it justice. An amazing amount of car for £1750!!

Got a couple of niggles to rectify, the main one being a bit of brake judder.  Which I think might be rear discs, it doesn't seem to be coming through the steering wheel, but you can feel it through the pedal I think!!  It's going to my local 'specialist' to have a ganders Monday, hopefully it's something cheap and simple!

Because I'm am idiot and have fitted the Nebula's, it now rubs on full lock.  Can you rectify that?  Change the steering stops like on the P1's?  Wheel spacers maybe? Or just live with it?

Also, the only bit of kit it doesn't have is the info centre.  I've looked into retrofitting it, and from what I gather it's a case of fitting the stalk (£15 secondhand on Ebay), and getting a software update from the stealers.  Anyone done this? Or know how much it would cost to get the update done?

Check the lock stops are in reasonable nick, if not swap them over.
Remove the rub plates on the inner arch liner. Mine wore through and MRG's advice was don't bother with them they're a waste of time. No more rubbing. Mine has started to rub again if I hold it on hard full lock but only slightly and I suspect the stop are starting to wear again slightly.

I'd love to have a set of Nebs as well but, 18 inchers combined with lowered springs - not sure tbh if the ride might end up a bit crashy, hence my sticking to 17's.

Heated leather is just soooo nice at this time of the year
Next mod suggestion - facelift headlamps

I've also got a bit of brake judder. TW suggests it's corrosion on the edges of the rear discs.

Cost: mine came from Dream3r when he was looking to upgrade his T5 but then he jumped to an R. I paid £120 for the two which is what I think he paid for them. I'm sure I've seen someone else say they snagged a set for £150.

MRG wanted to do that to mine too but i disagree the arch liners are metal and easily replaced if they do eventually wear through (2 bolts) if you remove them your tyres will wear through the wheel arch itself which is not easily replaceable imo leave em where they are and ignore the rubbing, new lock stops and (if staying on the road isnt perticularly important to you) fit P6000 pirellis will reduce the rubbing

Seriously that needs lowering and as Tingy said IPD ARB's are a must... then a re-map... welcome to 600 miles to a tank

As for the rubbing you'll get used to it and don't go full lock.

With decent lock stops they don't rub at all without the liners hence the removal.
As for wearing through the arch liner wheel arch itself, very much different from the flimsy liner crap.
Mine have started to rub slightly now the lock stops are wearing slightly but only when forced over on full lock. They didn't at all with the Vreds Sessantas but do now slightly with the Dunlops, they're very square.

I'm rocking the 205/55/16s...the turning circle is great, and it doesn't rub Grip levels and appearance are more dubious, but at least the tyres are cheap!

Can't argue with the value bud. My V70 has done north of 210k, and is still behaving itself. You can see substantially more than 600 miles to a tank if you drive it at 70 for long enough. I've done 800 miles, and a friend topped 1000 (with a RICA map). Bear in mind with mapping that a new intercooler and DMF tend to follow shortly afterwards...

Are you interested in selling the original wheels?
