right too meny people know about this to keep it quiet any more so i suppose i better fess up

Posted Image

i bought hammys car

didnt want to say anything until i actualy had it (picked it up last monday) and then the opertunity to bait irf presented itself (as some may have seen in the shoutbox) so i decided to hold off for another week

pretty much everyone on here knows the car anyway so not much to say about it really been out enjoying the T5 power (this is actually the first T5 ive ever driven) its basically going to be a toy car for me with the D5 doing any of the serious work/day to day stuff and the T5 for trackdays and the like

few things i want to do to it before the track day (assuming i get on the list) and talking to Tim/Irf/Mo even more things i want to do to it long term but for now im very happy with the car and loving hooning around in it :D il still have the D5 at combe and i will be taking it around track specially if its wet and il be driving the D5 down and back as when it comes to long distence cruising the C70 aint even close to the comfort level of the V70 but then thats not what its for

VERY nice car and at that price, you couldn't really go wrong. Saw it last night and looks like the right mods have been done and with a few tweaks here and there it should be quite good on track! Pulls like a train (and it just has a 16T!) with that Ferrita sounding o so sweet! Congrats Aid :)

Nice one :P

Glad it's being kept in one piece and not butchered for parts. ;)

If I had the choice of T5 or D5 round Combe then T5 all the way. Also considerably cheaper to fix a T5 than a D5 given level of knowledge on the forum and availability of second hand parts.

Come on Robbie sell one of your bikes and get a T5 :)

indeed far to good a car to be broken imo

im sure the T5 will be much more fun then the D5 but theres still something fun about tearing around in a diesel estate plus with the DSTC in the D5 you can really let loose in it but the T5 has not traction control at all so will defiantly require more concentration to drive hard

and it may be cheaper to fix but given the level of knowledge about tuning this T5 engine on the forum its going to cost me considerably more in the long run with the tuning ideas il get for it, on the phone to tim the other day i could hear my wallet in the other room crying :P

Nice one Aiden. At least you fessed up earlier this week hence my attempt on the shoutbox yesterday to wind things up abit Posted Image

I do keep looking and thinking should I, shouldn't I and I have found a very, very tempting T5 but I think I'll keep to the dark corner. I've lost too much on the D5 from buying it, even without the mods and the way fuel costs are going I simply cannot justify it. I also  have to run several other expensive habits (lycra, carbon, titanium, silicon, snow, etc) so the poor bank account  just can't take it. Unfortunate but that's life Posted Image

Anyway, what would Combe be without a mobile smoke screen.............Posted Image

Posted Image

Don't let your age define you. It's a number, that's all.

Nasty D5 dieseasel with few twiddly bits from TWR, MTE, IPD and Eibach but 600 miles to a tank ain't to be sniffed at :-)

I've been saying for ages the 16T is a very capable piece of kit when matched to the right mods

Try not to kill it Aid, it's a good car, I really didn't want to see it broken.

Hmm I wanted it but funds said no. It's a lot quicker without traction control by the way!

Enjoy!!
