After advice from one of the resident plods if they aint still hungover or sleeping lol,

Its dawned on me that my tax ran out yesterday.... not a problem ill buy some today, only realising that the post offices are not open till tuesday, and living in the middle of nowhere I need my car for everything on a daily basis.

Where do I stand using it, its not like I refuse to tax my car its simply I cant due to nowhere being open for the next 2 days.

im not an expert but why dont you tax it online, you can only get done for not dispaying a valid tax disk then, be a bit harsh if you do though as you will be on the data base as taxed, otherwise its down to the officer that notices it, if a camera catches you though its more than likely an automated fine.

I seem to recall you have 5 days grace to allow delivery, from when the last tax disc ran out, if you tax online.

Did you not receive the letter telling you your tax was due to run out?

It is an offence not to display a valid VED Disc with a maximum fine of £200 but you are unlikely to get fined if you have done the necessary online and carry the approriate paperwork until the disc arrives.

problem with doing it online is I never recieved the tax letter in the post so I dont have the refference number to enter.

Looks like ill just have to go it on foot till tuesday, just damn annoying when theres so many untaxed, uninsured etc you get away with it for years yet I (like others I dare say) have a genuine reason.

also moved house last month so never sent off log book to new address so post office is only way (I think).

It just concerns me as "technically" with no tax im not insured and if I get tugged by a copper in a mood then im looking at 6 points.
