New to this forum as of today, on my 2nd S60 D5, 1st was 2004 SE with all the toys but was written off by a nice lorry driver who did a runner! Anyway, I now have a lowish mileage D5S with what feels like uprated suspension on 18" Nebulas. I am getting a vibration on acceleration that is worse at 60mph but seems to go after 85+. any ideas? Hoping it's not DMF related.

Hello and welcome
. Not sure about the vibration, especially not if it's alleviated as speed increases. Checked the obvious things like wheel balance?

I have only had the car 2 weeks and the vibration started a couple of days ago. The rear tyres (P Zeros) are slightly worn, more on the inside so will be getting these changed soon. I was kind of hoping his may be the solution but have heard of DMF issues that could be the culprit, along with inner drive shaft coupling. It has good service history and the previous owner spared no expence as all service stamps are Volvo main dealer. The has had 2 new lower wishbones, front tyres, brake pads and cam belt all done Oct 2010. Mileage is a relative low 88,000 so wasn't expecting too much to have to spend. If it turns out not to be the DMF then will be looking for a remap, any ideas on who to use?

The favourite on this forum tends to be MTE for off the shelf mapping, however if you plan on going down the custom route MTE seems to be losing favour due to their customer service (or lack thereof).
I don't personally have any experience with any mappers, but there are plenty of members here with a variety of maps.

To be fair, on a D5 he's not likely to be going custom, so am off the shelf MTE will be fine.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair

Welcome to T5D5.
As above, get the tracking and balancing checked first IMO. If getting new tyres you will take care of in due course anyway.
I had similar problems when I got my car. Changed the tyres and that problem went away. At a later date I changed my discs and pads and noticed a lack of a vibration I hadn't noticed prior to them being replaced. I reckon my old thin discs were warped and were not helping but I hadn't noticed it at the time.
I may be wrong and often am but it doesn't sound like a DFM problem to me. The vibration will be at gear changes and mine had a knocking sound when idling.
You will probably be on the original DMF and clutch at that mileage. They might be completely fine as were mine when the car was standard. The extra torques from the remap was too much for the clutch so I had to get it changed as well. Its not all doom and gloom, yours might be just fine.
Have a search for remaps and have a read. Personally I would try to contact Don from Kalmar Union and get MTE map.

Welcome to the zoo
Have a read in the D5 tuning section

Don't let your age define you. It's a number, that's all.
Nasty D5 dieseasel with few twiddly bits from TWR, MTE, IPD and Eibach but 600 miles to a tank ain't to be sniffed at :-)
