Hi all,

I have just found this forum (where have I been) whilst searching through the web.

I have just changed my V50 D5 R-design (58) for V60 D5 Geartronic R-Design Polestar and thought I would join the T5D5 clan.

Looking forward to chattin with fellow memebers.

I will attempt to upload a photo of the new car as soon as I can figure out how too!!

Regards,

Welcome to another northern oil burner Posted Image

Easiest way for pics is to open a photobucket account, upload your pics to that account/site and post the links here.

Don't let your age define you. It's a number, that's all.

Nasty D5 dieseasel with few twiddly bits from TWR, MTE, IPD and Eibach but 600 miles to a tank ain't to be sniffed at :-)

The only issue with the car is the calipers are rusty. Would anyone recommend painting them or just leave Au Naturalle? I thought about either black or silver with logo decals but could do with recommendations on decent paint kits/paint etc!

Thanks guys!

GazT4R - when you say chucked tags on? Is this done on the photobucket site?

On Photobucket if you copy the box called IMG code under the photo when your in the album it has the tags in it already.
You can add them manually as I did with yours but that's the easiest way to do it.

Smoothrite or Hammerite depending on finish you want. Not found anything better tbh.

I agree.

Hammerite works really well on calipers, on rough castings you can paint it on and you'll never know the difference. Tested Hammerite against 'caliper paint' on my front OEM front calipers, the side with Hammerite still looks fine, the side with caliper paint is long since rust coloured.

On smooth calipers I'd recommend spraying it for the best finish - Seems to take a hell of a lot of coats though.

Yeah, get them swapped under warranty - then paint the nice new ones with hammerite.

I know Hammerite is good on Calipers, as mine were done with the Hammerite spray, and they havent discoloured at all, and they've been very hot
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair
