Hi guys from a very cold New York where I am working this week!

Not long bought a mint silver P1 V70 T5 after having rid of the 'family car', a Renault Megane Scenic and about to sell my prozed toy; a Nissan 200sx with lots of bells and whistles. Running 2 cars, one a practical but boring car and the other, an interesting yet imparactical one, is just getting to expensive so I decided to get an interesting yet practical wagon!

I have previously owned an 850 T5 so know a little about the car and so far have had no problems.

I have changed the oil and filter, flushed the ATF, flushed and bled the brake fluid (and replaced the rear pads and checked the handbrake shoes), flushed and changed the coolant, changed the steering fluid, changed the air filter for a K&N panel and generally cheacked and cleaned as much of the inside and outside (inclusing the engne bay) as much as possible.

I've fitted a genuine Volvo top strut brace under the bonnet that has seemed to tighten up the steering and future mods when cash and time allows, will be a complete turbo back s/steel system with race cat and then a remap but not sure where to get this as I hear differing opinions after searching around the net.

My passion is to have the car looking as good as possible and am an amateur detailer with a decent polishing kit and cleaning stuffs.

I also like to upgrade the audio in the car and have set aside, an Alpine 7998R for the source which will fee a top spec DLS A7 amp to power some Focal Utopias at the front and a pair of Hertz 12" subs which will sit in a custm box between the rear wheels.

So far, I have looked at the speaker placement in the doors and will be looking at moving the mid drivers to the lower front corner which will involve some fabrication (managed to pick up some spare door cards from a breaker to have a play with) and have swapped out the standard double din head unit for a temporary Alpine unit that has its own internal amplification as the 7998R is a dedicated source with no output amps.

I have also played about with some 3m Dnoc carbon fibre vinyle and recovered the faux walnut trim pnales which I think looks pretty good and lifts the interior into the present nicely.

I shall get some pics up to show you what I have done so far and look forward to sharing successes and fails with like minded people on here!

Hello & Welcome!!!

Yes indeed get some pic's up! get a photbucket account is the best way I find, there are loads of helpful threads and people on here who will be able to advise you on tuning as between us we have tried and tested most of the products out there for these cars and know what dose and doesn't work!
On replacing any parts I would always recommend using Genuine parts from MRG or FRF!

Cheers Greg

Welcome to the forum Mark. Sounds like you've done all the sensible things so far. Next thing to do if I was in your shoes would be check when the belts were last done, ignition service, PCV service and replace the vacuum hoses.

How could I forget........Ihad the cam belt and aux belt replaced as the aux belt was very cracked up and probably close to failing!

PCV is on the list but no signs of any symptoms yet so am hoping to hold that jb off until the better weather. Ishall probably work my way through the vacuum hoses, replacing with upgraded stuff as I go.

You say an 'ignition service'.....pardon my ignorance, but what are you meaning on this one? The plugs are good and no signs of any misfre from the coil packs.

Ah, you have an ME7 (ETM), wrongly assumed you had a M4.4 (throttle cable). In that case, forget the ignition service, your best off investing in a Dice unit, you can datalog from all sensors and read and clear codes, you need a decently spec'd laptop, but other than that you wont waste money on any other code reader or trips to the stealers.
