Heated Leather seats
Cruise control etc..

Heres a few pictures, may do a little bit of tinkering to this, but the old saying, "if it aint broke, dont fix it" comes to mind :)

Yep!
You'll get more out of it by making it corner better, but to be honest i've no idea on the 2.0T. Remap i'd have thought (be careful who you use), or buy a T5 ;)
There will be a lot of info on the forum but you'll have to hunt for it.

I guess its completely standard at the moment then? Has anything been changed on it?

Cheers

21 here, with an S60T5 knocking out around 300bhp (never too young for that lol)

Got into T5s when I was 19 with an S70T5. Stedman is about 4 years old too and he's got a gay gold V70...

Trust me mate, everybody will want a go in your "old mans car" then watch their opinion change. My mate after relentlessly abusing my "old man car" for about 6 months, finally had a go, and within 2 weeks traded in his Clio 182 for a 5 series because "he realised that not all cars fast have hurt my back everyday"...

Welcome :)

Wow I'm from Cheltenham as well :) spooky! defo chelt meet to come ;)

The thing on handling, I dont want to compromise on comfort, I had corsa on coil overs before this, yes big big jump and the coilovers pretty much made the car undriveable every bump was like a boxing punch. In the end sold the coilovers as was soo hard.

Ah but that depends on the spring rates you use. I know what you though - my current spring rates are pushing it for road use, but its pretty good on track. Tempted to change, but then hoon it about and love it again!
Anyway just changing the dampers to Bilstein B6 or similar quality and maybe changing the rear roll bar would make it better.

Correction - its Bishops Cleeve really ;)

Mine is a matt silver/grey X reg V70 with an R front end and black roof. Mildly modified at the moment as its been a battle getting to run right.

Yep, same story here. 'Why the hell have you bought that?' 'Is that your dad's car?' 'The tank' etc and similar comments.

Until they go out in it and they're opinion changes to. . WTF! Makes me laugh everytime. Fact is, they're good all round cars and you can get the best of most worlds out of them, you won't regret it mate!

Thats bad night to get it stuck with the snow that came down!! Do a search - its a common issue apparently.

Nearest dealer is Gloucester but I would always order parts from MRG Chippenham or FRF Swansea and get a good local garage like Eddie's up in Beckford to fit the parts unless you are happy doing it.
If you PM Ashok (Pyaap) he can give you an account number at MRG for a really awesome discount on proper parts - filters are dirt cheap.

I'm not stalking you ;)

Thankfully its somehow fixed itself over night which is a great great help :), most certainly with that snow! literally came out of nowhere!

SO guessing a little bit of water went down with the window and got the motor wet, won't be using that window in the ice and snow again thats for sure!

As far as i know there are 3 of us on here all from cleeve :)

Don't let your age define you. It's a number, that's all.

Nasty D5 dieseasel with few twiddly bits from TWR, MTE, IPD and Eibach but 600 miles to a tank ain't to be sniffed at :-)

My passenger window goes spastic every so often. I find if you hold the switch up until it reaches the top it'll stay there. If you click auto up, it'll come all the way up and close, and then immediately go back down to where it was. Bloody annoying! No idea what causes it.

Aye Bruv innit.

To the OP, If you are keeping the car and insurance is too steep for a T5 just get it remapped if you want a bit more grunt and then ride out a year or two no claims before getting a T5.

Some handling and brake mod's might be a good idea so she stops and corner better, keep the original stuff as you can put it back on when you sell it and transfer the new to your T5.

For now i think it will be a case of T5 may be a bit too much insurance, so modding wise i will be looking into it. What is the best place for a remap? what benefits would a FMIC give me, any pictures of so already installed..

As for corners, at the moment don't think that will be a nessasity as don't plan on going round and circuits etc etc, straight line and brake will do me for now :)

My car hasn't seen a track but I have a full set of coilovers, it's definitely worth doing :)
