Hi guys , i am thinking of starting a new car project with my friend. He has owned this dream for 8 yrs and now it is time for it to move.
This volvo is a very rare manual diesel.

Hmmm, two doors - 780?

But what's with the number plate - LHD at least I guess.

Possible for a D5 conversion (http://www.garaget.o...c.php?id=169372)??

Don't let your age define you. It's a number, that's all.

Nasty D5 dieseasel with few twiddly bits from TWR, MTE, IPD and Eibach but 600 miles to a tank ain't to be sniffed at :-)

I'd say stick a T5 lump in there and be done with it ;)

Is it RWD?

I suppose looking at the first pic and seeing the steering wheel on the left (wrong) side might have been a clue?

All the 780's are left hand drive, we want to get it running and replate it to UK plates and then see what we can do with the old straight 6 engine.

Never seen one in the uk, get it going, get polishing and you've got a showcar. T5 lump optional!
The universe was created when two volvo 940's crashed into each other.

2005 Volvo V70 T5 Auto. Cedar green pearl. Arena oak/aluminium. 18" BBS/Volvo Nebulas. Vredestein ultra Sessantas. Ultra Racing front strut brace. Powerflex engine mounts. 2.5 custom exhaust. EBC RedStuff. Samco hoses. Heico front splitter. R gauges. Rear spoiler. Silvatec all round. Dual rear fogs. Privacy glass. HIDS4U 6000k HID's. LED 501's all round. 'Moosed' for an extra 5bhp.

The 780 is a very rare car , only 8000 built, most where v6 petrol monsters, the diesel are the rarest , only 968 built , with the 16 v 2.0 litre next  1022 built. It is rwd so a t5 lump in very difficult, however it is possible to do a B230 ET petrol turbo swap and then swap the head for a 16 valve from a 740glt which we already have.
Power from this conversion is somewhere in the 220 bhp area.
