Another update. Picked up the car today. Lots of little bits of bad news today, really...but nothing drastic, thankfully.

They clearly managed to finish off the rear brakes, as they're now grinding when applied. Otherwise, the car is fine.
The tank of fuel failed to materialise. They apparently made off with around £40 of fuel (before the attendant became suspicious and shut the pump off, and they legged it), plus circa £30 in the tank, but there was only about £15 in there when I picked it up. In other words, they burned £55 of fuel in 150 miles. Reasonable effort.
Chances of getting anything bar the TV (and what was in the car) back: fading fast. That includes the keys and license. :(

Amusement:

cheers

He is currently helping police with their enquiries.
Can we arrange an impromptu Clan meet at Grantham soon and invite the said "gentleman" for "discussion" to discover the whereabouts of Foggys possessions? Preferably followed by a trip to the canal..............

Don't let your age define you. It's a number, that's all.

Nasty D5 dieseasel with few twiddly bits from TWR, MTE, IPD and Eibach but 600 miles to a tank ain't to be sniffed at :-)

I would sooner watch Robbie cycling around on his push hog wearing his finest Lycra then attending a 1/4 strip....

to be fair, the forensics guys will have just been looking for forensic evidence to link said scrote with your car...

I hope you passed said "other things" to plod (I assume it's drugs )

Well there were various items they've missed which I would describe as "very useful" for the investigation...and Leics have handed it back seemingly without spotting these items. Not drugs...haha...potential lines of enquiry. I'm waiting for plod to collect them.

Plod not doing their job properly?  A few years ago I'd have been shocked and outraged by that, now... not surprised.

I ought to add that Lincs have been excellent, but Leics appear to have had their eye off the ball when looking at the car.

I know, who'd of thought it, then a more senior officer spin a yarn a mile long to cover it.
