For wrapping my roof yesterday. Did a sterling job as it was quite difficult with the cold and other issues. Makes a decent cup of tea too :).
Not ideal weather to drive home in as the snow came down but since Adam uses top notch wrap not cheap sign stuff (you can smell the difference as I found out after he had me sniffing vinyl ) it hasn't lifted.
Had the extra gloss black in then end so once it has settled properly and I can polish it it will look very nice indeed, almost glass like.

Well.... Just got back from Bristol, quick trip to Ikea and then dropped in to say hi to Gaz.
Shame, but the vinyl roof is now in the back of my 406! The vinyl glue has reacted with the rattle can paint so its been ripped off and we'll start again next weekend. Its pretty common to find this - either it sticks like poo to a blanket or drops off. This time it decided to drop off, taking a bit of paint surface with it.

So next weekend Gaz is coming back up, we'll get rid of the crap paint, flat it off to the original stuff and start again. No bother and obviously no charge - these things happen and it will cost us both a bit of time to get it right. It will look great when its done and sticking properly! :)

Purely curious, but can the vinyl be re-used?

Sadly a slight problem I noticed this morning with one corner developed.
Adam offered to come down to me but he has kindly offered to reapply a fresh sheet so I shall travel up to him as the materials are not cheap.

Chatting to Adam, it's clever shit this vinyl stuff especially the quality ones. As long as it isn't knackered, which mind is as it pulled paint with it then yes. You can screw it up on a ball then if you hold it out and heat it it will form back into the flat sheet apparently. You'd then just heat and reapply. In the case of mind it is knackered, apart from a small tear where Adam was working a corner the adhesive layer has reacted and pulled the paint into it.

Must remember to paint the mirror covers before I come up next week too :).

No, its hexis Hx20000. Good stuff and stuck very well on loads of other cars I've done, including my own.
The dinoc is mostly internal, this is proper 8 year external wrap.

It will be fine with some sanding.

Ok will do, ones the original mirror with Mystic Silver underneath and the other is plain primer underneath as it was a replacement.

If it keeps pissing me off it may well still get broken. The only reason it hasnt is because of the time invested in it. Will call you tonight.

What of mine or Gaz's? Gaz now looks like it did before with a matt black roof, mine looks soggy right at the moment.
