I'm going to lower the car. I've been looking at Apex lowering springs because a (non volvo) friend has recommended them, but they seem cheap at £120.

They will drop the front and rear by 35mm, which is about right without it looking stupid.

Apex reckon they're designed to work with standard shocks, which is a bonus.

Anyone got any pointers or advice before i take the plunge? Posted Image

Or can confirm that i can get away with standard shocks. .

Afaik apex springs are used in the koni kit. I've read that lowering springs can accelerate the demise of standard shocks but I've not noticed anything when I've done it to a couple of cars.

i used apex on my last 850r estate worked really well although the rear was a tad bouncy so to a loop or 2 out wich made it loads stiffer and was pleased with them.

just be sure to check that you dont have self leverling suspension on the rear as these will have to be removed otherwise they wont work.

cheers mark

I have used apex on my MR2 and i think my CRX has them..... They are good springs, but if using on standard shocks, it can feel abit woolie.... I wouldnt reccomend it for track but road will be fine.

Righto thanks for that chaps! Think that's a go then. Can't see me going on track anytime soon so. . . It's on my '101 list of things to do', but one things for certain I don't want to be the only guy in an V70 going round Donnington park!! Defo a team tank effort required lol.

Anyway, Cheers!

Diseasel's running on Eibach Pro with standard shocks (Sachs/Boge). A bit stiffer than normal but not badly so and lowered 30-40mm so it looks better than stock imho.

Don't let your age define you. It's a number, that's all.

Nasty D5 dieseasel with few twiddly bits from TWR, MTE, IPD and Eibach but 600 miles to a tank ain't to be sniffed at :-)
