I have just been out in my flat mates/Life partner's (that was for Tim's Benefit) Lexus and with the snow button on, you would not know it was RWD plus it has new nearly new tyre's on as well!

So what have the Japanese done different to the Germans?

Das ist Nicht Goot lol

Cheers Greg

BM's all depend on the driver....i happily used my E30 yesterday all the way from coventry to bolton. I slipped on the odd occasion, but was fine apart from that.
I have no LSD or any sort or traction gissmo.... its all about the feet control.

I agree, I happily drove about in Merc Sprinters and Transits in the snow, and that's with a light rear end too.

They dont have any problems in Germany and it actually snows over there. Not the cake topping that we get in England.
Its they Dicks that drive them over here that is the problem.

The lexus snow button just makes the throttle less responsive, but doesnt make any difference to the traction system, but not sure about the BMW ones, i think they may take over the traction system

mine and paddy's e30 318 is a snow worrier on summer budgets! no LSD just skinny tyres and a cable throttle thats easy to modulate

the things unstoppable even with a ham fisted dohnut smuggler behind the wheel

Ummm nope cant think why bmw r sio useless in snow at all

Tbh most of there problems (aside from the driver) stem from being fitted with useless runflat tyres so no side wall give at all and they may be nice a grippy the rest of the year but useless in the snow

I think you will  that every thing is tied in to the Lexus, because when the snow button is on you cant even spin the wheels it will not let you, the same if the arse end steps out on you it screams at you and brakes the necessary wheels to put you straight again! don't ask me how but i got it wrong on wet roads and the thing reacted quicker than i could!

Good job to because i do not have another 13k to buy another one lol

Fuck off!! I deliberately selected 1st, besides if I was driving it like you (ham fisted doughnut smuggler) heel & toe into 1st, I'd have gone through those lights backwards instead of sideways Posted Image:lol:

i dont get it.

just generalising here but so many people out there who wont buy a rear wheel drive car cos they're crap in the snow. yes, if they're not on winter tyres then a fwd car will be better (like for like) but to base a car buying decision on 4 days of the year is just........ well, its stupid isnt it?

then you've got people on one side being smug about overtaking all these people in their rear wheel drive cars.

for pure driving dynamics, like for like, rear wheel drive IS better, no getting away from that i'm afraid.

i think i'm just getting old, gonna be preaching love and harmony soon.

mind, i'm not so old that i dont enjoy getting the back end out on the merc lol.

If your generalising the vast majority of cars are FWD, because its cheaper and better on fuel, hence why the majority of people buy them.

You are too old and your car drives the wrong wheels, apparently .
