hi i have a volvo 2001 v70 i have just reaplaced my interior so i could have heated front seats i was just woundering if anyone could tell me were the relay is for the heated seats and my second problem is with the boot it says its open when its not iv tryed anther boot lock on it and still it stays on and i have also changed the loom from the top of the speaker to the boot with a new loom what else could be the problem cos im pulling my hair out with it could someone help me

Is yours a P1 or a P2 mate (Yes may seem a daft question but i have seen an "02" plated P1 V70)

Retro fitting heated seats into a P1 is a piece of pie

However if it`s a P2 then theres a whole load of stuff to sort before they will work

P2 cars are more canbus controlled and you will need a set of switches for the CCM and also a software download from volvo to switch them on (basically the software tells the CCM that you have heated seats and when you press the button the seats and CCM talk to each other and confirm yep heated seats power on and hey presto warm bum)

Twas one of the reasons i didn`t go for heated seats when i replaced my xplod interior with leather

If it looks like the car in my sig pic mate then it`s a P2 (obviously without the light bar lol)

Possibly a cut or broken wire for the boot mate as seems like it`s gone open circuit

Where about`s in notts are you mate as if your local i could always pop over and have a look see

no mine nothing like yours mine the one with all black trims allaround and i live in huthwaite sutton in ashfield

If you look ay my signiture thats a P2 as well, it's a prefacelift whereas the later facelifts have colour coded plastics and can also be refered to as P2.5 by some.

If it is a p2 it can be done for heated seats, slight pain in the ass though.

could the upper electronic control unit couse the the boot light to stay on and tell you that it open when its not could that go down for any reason

It`s a P2 then

What i should of asked was is it the same shape as mine

Mine had all black trims mate i`ve just had them colour coded to match the car

S in A thats not too far from me about 25 mins drive up the A60 and then back road into huthwaite

its not to far  i just want all the lights off the dash like my old one did its driveing me crazy sayin boots open  could the upper electronic control unit couse the the boot light to stay on and tell you that its open when its not could that go down for any reason and bring this problem up

thanks to everyone that hellped me found it was a broken wire in the boot loom didnt look broke but when 500v was passed though it you found the falt thanks all pete
