Hey folks, anyone know how to cure this problem?
The boot lid rim is touching the bumper as it leaves a rusty line and all the paint off the edge of the bootlid has come off - dunno if it's had a smack up the arse at somepoint as something looks slightly bent underneath the car. Does the bracket move at all as some brackets where the latch clamps onto are adjustable on other cars.
Its really annoying me as I end up slamming the bloody thing out of frustration to get it shut - which doesn't always work.
Any ideas?

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM!

Hmm, not thought about hinges - will have a look.
I know when I bought it the bodywork wasn't immaculate and it has had repairs done to the bumper corners but the lines are straight ie the doors fit flush with the door touching the bumper all the way along. Will go out now and have a look.
Ive just bought some masking tape and am going to have a look at spraying the grill a bit.
Will take a few snaps on my phone to show the problem.

T4 used to touch the bumper on the nearside corner of the boot and where the spoiler touched the rear quarters both wearing the paint away. I just touched it up in the interim but then sold it before I looked into it. That had never been hit either.

Cheers for the input guys, sometimes it closes perfectly and other times its a right pita (I end up dropping the back seat to chuck stuff in the boot).
I've checked the hinges and they are fine, checked the side brackets and there has been no movement etc.
I've compared the boot lid with the 850's and it all lines up the same as does the little bracket in the boot floor.
Here's a few pics...

Here you can see the rust on the edge where the paint has worn off

..and the mark left by the boot lid.

The boot catch showing a bit of wear where the lid has hit.

Now me being from an engineering family, I'd take a large file and trim the bootlid edge so it doesn't catch.

Are any parts adjustable?
