Hi all,

Just saying hello!

Few months back bought a Volvo 850 T5 estate to tow my Peugeot 306 1.9 TD track car about, and me being me (I work for Practical Performance Car Magazine) it didn't stay standard very long...

Bigger turbo fitted, decat done and custom mapping to suit (a friend runs a tuning company) I was seeing just shy of 300hp... better stop there it's an auto! :)

It's found itself on track a couple of times (afterall, it does tend to spend quite a lot of time at tracks as the tow / tool car!) and will shortly be taking me and a couple of mates over to the Nurbugring on our Annual holiday!

Anyway, some piccies - meet Vanessa:

Vanessa? Purleeez!

More info on the pug please, sounds interesting.

Oh and if some bloke called Adam b posts on this thread just ignore him. He tends to feign interest in any marque a new person shows just to get in their pants and he's not fussy if its a he, she or he-she.

Thanks irf...

That's good going out a 1.9 dTurbo. I've got one in a 406 sat outside, bit more than a fuel tweak on yours!!
I've got to ask why though when the 6 engine is so good out if the box? I did bin my standard rallye engine in favour of a d8 v6 but it was completely knackered.

I now use my v70 as a tow car and track car! Welcome!!

Nowt wrong with taking a diesel on track Posted Image

Be interesting to see the engine curves compared to the 5-pot Volvo lump and how you got there. That's the second 1.9D that's made over 200bhp I've come across. James, (Ed's friend?) with his 1.9 VAG lumped Seat Leon made 209bhp and a good dose of torques at the last MK dyno day with just a remap I think  (but he did smoke more than me Posted Image ).

Oh, and welcome to the zoo. Don't worry about Irf, he's in the solitary cage with the "no talk torque " sign Posted Image

Don't let your age define you. It's a number, that's all.

Nasty D5 dieseasel with few twiddly bits from TWR, MTE, IPD and Eibach but 600 miles to a tank ain't to be sniffed at :-)

Welcome to the forum

I used to have a 306 1.9 Dturbo years ago and it was a great car if you did the pump mods. Mine smoked like a Russian Kamaz and was a great car to take to the Ring. Was great fun overtaking heavily modded hatches in a smog of black sootPosted Image
