Hi folks, whilst I have a loan car, figured I may as well post a few pics for anyone that hasn't had a decent look at one of these....

It's only the 2.0D model, so has no guts really, it's ok to motorway cruise but forget about any overtaking on single carriageway  :oneforyou:

The interior I really like, and it seems to handle pretty well.  Instead of a key, you have one of those blocks which goes into dashboard slot, then you hit the start button (although it won't start unless the clutch is depressed, even when in neutral).  It's a bit "Big Brother" as it seems to know everything, i.e. which seats are occupied, who's got their belt on etc.  The only thing I really don't like is the electronic handbrake.

No need to apologise, the more the merrier.  You won't find us lot moaning about such trivial things as people joining in threads, drifting the threads off topic etc etc. It's all part of the feel of this forum, and why we love it and are proud to be members of it

I have now done 3700km in mine and I love it. It's a D5 geartronic. The economy is not great - but certainly not bad - and it is getting better on each tank of diesel.

The seats a superb, the interior lovely place to be and it is very quiet. It does exactly what it says on the tin. The boot floor is a little high - but overall it ticks all teh right boxes. I seldom use the handbrake - but having owned a Merc it is no big deal to me. I like the Sat-Nav and the bluetooth. As for problems there have been none so far.

If anyone is at Marham at the weekend pop over and you can have a nose about.

Thanks - you have no idea how many emails went back and forth choosing the wheels!! I have a set of 17" Caniculas with winter tyres - for winter - obviously.

The car is lowered on HEICO springs, and will also have the remap later this year - mid-June time.

The interior is off-black leather with modern wood - which I reckon is the best combo for the new V70.

I'm still not convinced they got the rear end quite right, but yours is the best looking one I've seen so far, dodgyken!

They do them with a 2.0D engine? Crikey...

cheers

James

They do, and it's pretty gutless, I think the spec is 134bhp.  It was fine cruising on motorways, but didn't inspire me in any other way with its performance.

That's really pretty weedy for such a big car, I guess we should just be glad they don't fit the 1.6D, that's gutless in an S40 :D

I really like the look of the new V70 and S80, a high spec one of those with the D5 engine and a remap would do me just fine.......

Maybe one day!

Cheers,
John
