Our Galaxy has an electronic handbrake - great for hill starts but has locked twice at junctions and can't free it, had to wait until it decided to let go. Apparently it's a more common fault on S-Max's than Galaxy's, not sure why as they're the same vehicle bar a few inches of height. The 2.0D 140BHP engine (same as yours Hammy?) is torquey and matches the vehicle well - never going to set the world on fire but an absolute pleasure to drive the family around in and 40+ mpg in town. Might be a Dagenham Dustbin but it's quality feeling motor.
I agree about the level of computer involvement in new cars though - my most fun vehicles have been the simplest. I had loads of fun in a Mark 2 Golf GTI at a fraction of my V70's pace - probably because it didn't have the weight and interference of comfy seats/aircon/ABS/traction control. However those are also the reasons I bought the V70.
How's that for rambling off topic?
I like the look of it inside and out Hammy. Wheres the C70?

Don't panic, the C70 isn't going anywhere (except maybe to the SVPW)
I had that as a loan car for 2 weeks whilst my Passat Estate (aka "The Dog Bus") was being repaired after some idiotic 17 year old (who passed her test 2 weeks before) drove into us.
