S40 T5 brake upgrade 300 to 320mm

8 posts in this topic

Morning all,

This is my first question on here, I apologise if it's been covered before.

What is needed to upgrade to the 320mm setup from my current 300mm? Is it a different set of calipers (if so what model so I can try and find some) and do they bolt on without any other mods?

I'm assuming this is a worthwhile upgrade? I'm looking for a little better stopping power. My previous car was a 2007 Clio 197 with 312mm Brembo 4 pots as standard so it's taking some getting used to!

Sorry, yes - that would help!

It's a 2006 and currently has the 300mm setup. I've found the calipers are different, but now need to work out if they just bolt on or if the rest of the hubs are different.

Sorry I know nothing of the newer cars, if it had been the older shape S40 then there would have been the option of the brakes from the Evo set up I believe.

But there is bound to be a direct bolt on fit somewhere sorry I can't help you

Cheers Greg

You'll need the setup from the AWD S40/V50 so I'm guessing callipers, discs etc and it'll be a relatively straight swap.

This has been cover in depth on the c30crew site as many have gone down this route.

Discs, pad, calipers, caliper carriers, caliper carrier bolts and hoses.
