It has been brought to our attention last night by an un-connected individual that VPCUK are not happy about their members "soliciting" other members to join this site, and this includes by way of the Private Message system as well as on the open forum.
One or two of their members with no connection whatsoever to the running of this site have had their Private Messages trawled for possible links to T5D5, and have received warnings from the VPCUK moderators about soliciting other members. They have also been accused of being "agents" of this site which they are categorically not. We would hope that people will respect their (VPCUK's) wishes if they do not want members refering to this site from their forum.
Here at T5D5 we have no intention of antagonising the situation, and have no need for "agents", so we would ask those of you with joint membership to think twice before using VPCUK as a means to refer any acquaintances to this site. We do not want people receiving warnings for the purposes of promoting this site. Warnings can be quite intimidating and serious things to receive.
It would appear so far that other forums do not have such an issue.
We would also like to reassure our members that the messaging system on THIS site IS confidential. We the moderation team, do not access members messages. Only Admin has that facility, and that would only ever be used in the event of VERY SERIOUS breaches reported to us by the recipients of the messages, and only in situations that could be determined to be ILLEGAL ACTIVITY.
Threats to other members by PM would be one example. Planning of a crime would be another.
Our Message system is not filtered or trawled for any reasons, doing so would constitute a very serious breach of trust, and confidentiality on our part. If a message is promoted as being "Private" then it should be just that.
As this post is a notice, not general forum content, it may be subject to correction or modification during it's presence on the forum
