yea been speeking to more people since you mentioned fitting a power comander to it i may go down that route even with the aky can on it my uncles K9 gixer runs a bit splutery low down as he has an aky system and hes planning on getting a power comander i think with the butterfly i may not need one but it would also remove the 185mph limiter which always sounds good

cheers
it is bonkers only thing ive really had chance to test is 59-104 (was looking at the thread on here about the cars times gave me the idea) steady 60mph in 2nd speed dropped slightly to 59 as i pushed the start button then held on for dear life till i saw 100 then took me another 4mph to push the stop button could have done it in first but was worried about it wheeleing, anyway 2.76 secs

A Power comander will improve it no end and a good dynojet dyno will give you a custom map too :0.

not being funny DSK but R1 didnt perform the way u wanted??? The R1 is an awesome bike as all the 1000s are it certainly doesnt lack in performance i must admit its more like riding a tourer than the others for riding position

Ive not ridden the R1 or the s1000rr yet (really must get round to that) but compaired to the firblade and gsxr this is definatly still the most mental 1000 it just never really feels right unless its screaming its nuts off right up the top of the rev range

I actually liked the 2008 R1 and spent 15 minutes in the office pondering where to sign on the dotted line or not but, with the cross-plane crank R1 just around the corner and the fact that I was not impressed with the low-down torque/roll on performance I held fire. It was a very competent bike but felt like a potent 600 as I found it to be a bit of a tap dance on the gearbox. Over winter dealer networks only had 1 R1 demo bike between them so getting a test ride and trying to predict a dry ish day meant I waited.
I am most probably going to be working in North London in a month or two so will buy a litre bike then.
