Quaife diff's...........

07 May 2012 - 19:05

For those wishing to purchase one of these for a FWD car you may wish to ask what effects the following have on the torque bias ratio and then specify what you want:

1. Gear Helix Angle

2. Gear Pressure Angle

3. Pre-Load

For those stuck with what they have you could try a higher non slip viscosity oil as the Quaife relies a lot on friction to operate Posted Image

I'm thinking about it...lol

Plain Bearings (Shell Bearings)

19 April 2012 - 17:57

One of the guys I work with has been doing some searches on these for a project and asked me to check out these links so I thought I would share them with you.

All are PDF files except the first which is a nice story IMHO so you can download and read the others later if you wish.

Just remember though It may be dangerous to read only parts of the links in isolation and then use that knowledge when building your engine.

The RET links are free and RET has other tit-bit info you might find useful.

This one is from a snake oil company but has some aditional info based on the other links above.
