Morning all...! As above, just need some help on what oil to put in my C70; reason for the thread is that most 2001 cars are now on 70k+...Mine has only done 48k so I was a bit hesitant to just throw 10W40 in there as the engine hasn't even broken in yet...

So...what oil grade shall I use...? I rang Braydon Motor Co to ask what oil they used in my car when thy serviced it the day beifre I bought it and they just said 'Volvo recommended spec mate'...

You lot have helped me a lot already so your advice is much appreciated...!   lol...

Morning all; I've been thinking of the brake upgrade for a while now as my C70 came with weedy 288mm discs...so I rang FRF today and spoke to 'Mike'...was very helpful and explained everything clearly on the phone...Very refreshing to have that level of service from a main dealer!

I said to Mike I'd leave a comment or such on here...so that's what I'm doing...going to also review how the brakes feel etc once I have them fitted...so I guess this will be a proper review so others (i.e. new members etc) can see how it is from start of ordering to end product.

Prices were a lot less than I expected...which was nice!

Ordered the parts, should have them by Wednesday, will update thread once the parts arrive...

Firstly...sorry I keep making these threads...just that I'm new to all this...and I DO appreciate your input...!

After now ruling out a performance panel filter (although a Cone filter + shield from BSR is still on the cards along with a cold air feed), and also ruling out RICA and BSR tunes (gonna stick with MTE from Don @ Kalmar Union)...Question remaining is,

Which exhaust should I fit?

I'm after something which will maybe resonate a rumble etc whilst cruising, but keeps itself quiet on the motorway (since 80% of my volvo's miles will be done on the M25/M4/M11) i.e. no droning...

I don't know much when it comes to exhausts guys , so fill me in on this topic init...   

Budget is probably around £400 max, bearing in mind I have an ME7 engine (groan :\ )...and only I'm after a 'Cat Back' exhaust not a full system...just want to hear the engine note if anything, it's a little too subdued for my liking at the moment...!

As above, your input is appreciated as it Will influence me on what the end decision is...

Morning all...I popped into ECP yesterday morning to pick up some bits to do a service on my sister's 306; my mate was working that morning (has a R33 Skyline GTR) and he saw my C70, smiled, and said Turbo cars love breathing mods...and so got me a K&N panel filter priced up for only £30 ...so I picked it up off him for that much, fitted it when I got home and drove to work...and drove home...

...Would a panel filter need time to settle in or anything like that? Would the ECU take a while to adjust to the increased air flow through the MAF?

I did notice the turbo spool up slightly quicker (maybe 100rpm or so earlier than usual) so I'm guessing more air = more torque...?

Replies much appreciated...I'm sure i'm not the only one with these sort of questions and you guys being performance nuts probably know more than I do.

Also...I'm going to phone Don today to book in for a MTE remap...would the K&N filter help in any way...?

So...I've had my C70 now a few months; I was on the web looking for a decent panel air filter, when I thought i'd have a nosey on BSR's website...The stage 1 tune is affordable for me, but, just after your thoughts on it...?

My C70's a 2.4LPT, and the power would go from 193hp > 239hp, and (for me the most important one as I do motorway driving), Torque goes from 303Nm > 392Nm...

...I'm just worried I might break my car lol, she's only done 47k (hit that today coming back from work)...

Responses much appreciated guys n girls...it's my first time 'tuning' a car so a bit nervous...
