Driving for economy C30 2.0D

Only had the car a couple of months and still getting used to it from petrol engines.
Whats the best way to get good economy, changing gear quickly, high/low revs?

Hi & a happy new year to you all.
Bought myself a C30 2.0D 10 days ago and am enjoying it. Its my second Volvo, had a 740 yrs ago, and sold it with 130k miles on.
Will at some time be looking to gain a few more horses from it, but don't rate the plug in chips.
There is a tuner :- Sedox Performance close by with a dyno, so may look them up.
Anyone have any recommendations on this?
